The cost is $5 per item.

Note: Luggage may not be taken into meeting rooms. Also, please do not store your luggage at your poster board when you are not present.

Restaurant Reservations/Concierge Desk, Registration Area

A Restaurant and Concierge Services Desk is located in Lobby C/D near the Registration Area. The service is complimentary for both attendees and exhibitors. The Desk offers San Diego information and access to restaurant menus. Desk staff can make immediate dining reservations by phone and recommend attractions and activities throughout the San Diego area.

First Aid and Security

In a non life threatening emergency, use the nearest house phone, located throughout the center and dial Security/Guest Services at extension 5490 or from an outside line or mobile phone call 619-525-5490.

For life threatening emergencies, dial extension 5911; or from an outside line or mobile phone, dial 619-525-5911.

DO NOT dial 911.

A First Aid Room is located in the lobby of Ballroom 20, which is also the same level as the scientific meeting sessions. The First Aid Administrator will be on duty:

The ASCB and EMBO work closely with the San Diego Convention Center and local authorities to ensure the safety and security of attendees and staff.  Attendees should take off their name badge when exiting the building and be aware of their surroundings at all times and note the closest emergency exit in all facilities.  Once again, for onsite emergencies while in the San Diego Convention Center, contact a uniformed security officer or pick up the nearest beige phone and dial x5911 or 619-525-5911 direct on your cell phone.

For emergencies while in your hotel, please follow the hotel’s specific instructions.

Infant Lounge

A nicely furnished permanent Infant Lounge is located in the Women’s restroom behind Starbucks in the Hall E Lobby of the San Diego Convention Center. Look for a sign with arrows pointing to it just outside the Starbucks. The room has tables and chairs, electricity, and water. The semi-private lounge, available for nursing mothers and parents with infants, provides a comfortable and secure environment. Parents and guardians are responsible for providing infant care supplies. The infant lounge is unsupervised, and the ASCB/EMBO is not responsible for any accidents or injuries that may occur.

The infant lounge is opened whenever the San Diego Convention Center is opened.

Lost and Found

Please turn in any item found throughout the San Diego Convention Center to the ASCB Meeting Management Office. Items are kept throughout the meeting until Wednesday, December 12 at 12:00 Noon.

If you believe you lost an item at the San Diego Convention Center during the 2018 ASCB | EMBO Meeting, please visit the ASCB Meeting Management Office.

ASCB has a Nondenominational Prayer Room located in Room 18 of the San Diego Convention Center. It will be open during the following hours:

Speaker Lounge

The Speaker Lounge is located in the San Diego Convention Center. All Subgroup, Keynote, Symposia, Minisymposia, and Microsymposia speakers are strongly encouraged to visit the Speaker Lounge to check their presentation and take care of any issues that may arise before their talk. The hours of operation are:

Wireless Internet Access

The ASCB will provide free, wireless Internet access during the 2018 ASCB | EMBO Meeting in all lobbies and corridors of the the San Diego Convention Center. Paid wireless internet is accessible in the ASCB Learning Center (formerly called the Exhibit Hall), and the meeting rooms. If you wish to access the complimentary internet, set the SSID (wireless network identifier) to “Free Internet” in the lower lobby areas for access.

To access the paid internet in the meeting rooms, the fee is $12.95 per day, per device.

To access the paid internet in the Exhibit Halls for Exhibitors, the fee is $79.99 per day, or $159.99 for 3 days.
